    Capital of the Balagne region, with a magnificent backdrop against the red-tiled town below, Calvi features a palm tree lined harbor along with lively restaurants surrounding the promenade. It is also reputedly the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, born during the Genoese occupation of the town.

    The town has a quality natural environment and a rich heritage, both architectural and religious. Calvi is also distinguished by the numerous cultural and sports events. Calvi offers the change of scenary of a far off destination.
