    Dunkerque Carnival

    From February 01, 2014 to March 22, 2014

Welcome to Dunkerque-Dunes de Flandre, a destination brimming with life. From January til March you can hear the sounds of fifes and drums during the popular, authentically Dunkerquois celebration… the Dunkerque Carnival! For the local Dunkerquois this is a regular, annual occurrence, however for tourists this Carnival is full of excitement and surprises!

    Music and songs

The moment you hear the first few notes from the fifes, drums and brass, the mood is set for the Carnival. Musicians are everywhere, dressed in classically French striped marine tops with yellow jackets. You could have a go at understanding the local dialect “dunkerquoi” or sing along with the music to fully immerse yourself in the carnival experience!
