"Noces Végétales" at the Botanical Gardens in Paris

    From November 21, 2013 to February 02, 2014

The Fondation Ateliers d'Art de France and the National Museum of Natural History present, within the Grandes Serres du Jardin des Plantes (great greenhouses of the Paris botanical gardens) "Noces Végétales", the first exhibition by the designer Tzuri Gueta.

The visitor is taken on an initiatory journey through the rites and the symbols of marriage. The nuptials that are celebrated here associate silicon lace and the plant life that thrives within the greenhouse, via a disquieting mimetism. Where exactly lies the frontier between the plant and its silicon equivalent? The frontier between what is true and what is false? Tzuri Gueta's pseudo-plant creations contribute towards the atmosphere of the site, creating a genuine dialogue with plants.

Tzuri Gueta transforms the greenhouse into a laboratory, an experimental incubator, the glass walls of which barely impose but a fragile frontier between inside and outside. His hybrid pieces, painstakingly created in his workshop using a syringe, are deliberately oversized to fittingly adorn this monumental site.
